Welcome to the website of the Office of the Ombudsman for Seychelles.
The independent, non-adversarial and impartial institution is now synonymous with the citizens’ defender against acts of maladministration by the State. It has become a symbol of fair play and justice in relation to resolving grievances involving the State in a faster and more cost effective manner.
The Office is not subject to any direction or control by any authority in its task of providing an impartial and unbiased form of alternative dispute resolution which is less formal and more flexible and accessible than going through the Courts.
Anyone who feels personally and unjustly treated by an administrative action of a public authority can MAKE A COMPLAINT.
MESSAGE OF THE OMBUDSMAN
A Fourth Arm of the State
Our ambition in setting up this website is to open a window into the complex role of this constitutional office which can be likened to a fourth arm of the State, charged with keeping a watchful eye on the public services delivered by the armies of public officers working under the orders and supervision of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial arms of the State…
